Meet our Supervisor Coltan!

How did you get into gaming? I can’t remember when exactly I got into gaming, but the earliest memory I have is sitting in the middle of the living room floor with a box of Hero Quest, making up rules for it with my sister.

What’s your current favorite game? I really love the depth and intense levels of interaction that Infinity offers, but when I want to think a little less, I grab my Crisis Protocol models.

Favorite paint brand? Scale 75; I tend to paint in thin layers, and S75 paints give me great control while not separating as much as other brands when I make super-thin glazes.

Where did you grow up? Michigan, near the shore of Lake Michigan in a small town called St. Joseph.

What board game do you recommend most? Blood on the Clocktower! I love social deduction games, and this one is on a whole other level!

Favorite Pokemon? Froslass! I love the lore she’s based on and Ghost is my favorite type!

Favorite Magic the Gathering Color Combination? Izzet! Love playing storm!

Meet our Team Lead Jonathan!

How did you get into gaming? My dad mostly but board games were important to my family.  Played risk and chess with my Dad all the time and was always proud of finally beating him.

What’s your current favorite game? Kind of a tie right now.  Still love Warhammer 40k playing my Deathwatch and Grey Knights but more recently I’ve been playing Star Wars Unlimited and diving in deep playing almost every day at the shop.

Favorite paint brand? I‘ve really been sticking with pro acryl.  It’s what I’ve had the most experience with and I think an excellent paint brand for beginners.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in a small town here in Kentucky called Taylorsville in Spencer County about 30 minutes South East of Louisville.

What board game do you recommend most? There’s so many but I greatly recommend Cat Magic, made by a local game designer.  It’s what actually got my wife interested in playing board games.  Before she never would have tried.

Favorite Pokemon? I always have to go with Mudkip.  Emerald was the first Pokémon  game I played and Mudkip was the first starter I chose.

Favorite Magic the Gathering Color Combination? I always enjoyed playing red white boros and blue white izzet.  Liked the Infantry spam boros provided and my Izzet decks were fun having a few defenders and spamming burn spells like galvanic blast.

Anything else you’d like the world to know about yourself? I‘ve been an avid star wars fan almost all my life.  I’ve managed to track down and collect all of the Star Wars Legends novels, a project I’ve been working on since I was 8 and had way to much xwing when before the pandemic.

How did you get into gaming? As kids my brother and I agreed on very little. But we came to a consensus that battletech looked awesome and the rest is history.

What’s your current favorite game? Is and probably forever will be: D&D.

Favorite paint brand? Love pretty much everything AK, from paint, to effects, to brush on primer.

Where did you grow up? Louisville, born & raised.

What board game do you recommend most? Nemesis! It’s pretty much playing through the plot of Alien, complete with secret sabotages, lethal parasites, and a high likelihood of death.

Favorite Pokemon? Nidoking. Because just look at him.

Favorite Magic the Gathering Color Combination? Red+White+Green: as it is the fastest route to casting giant dinosaurs.

Anything else you’d like the world to know about yourself? I wrote a silly novel that will soon be available for purchase! Keep a lookout for Ace Troyer: Monster Destroyer, on a shelf or in a store or dumpster near you!

How did you get into gaming? Gaming in general, I got into when I was really young by sneaking into my sister’s room to play Pikmin on her GameCube. Miniatures in specific, I got into it because I got obsessed with the lore of Warhammer 40k and had a lot of downtime when I first started college.

What’s your current favorite game? Video game current favorite is probably Ghost of Tsushima. It’s just an excellent story told in an excellent way. Table top nothing can supplant the awesome models from 40k even if I don’t get to okay as often as I’d like.

Favorite paint brand? Monument Hobbies Pro-Acryl. They achieve a perfect balance of coverage, thinning power, and color vibrancy for me and my style of painting. Though I do have a soft spot for Army Painter Speed Paint.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in a town a couple of hours away called Corbin Kentucky.

What board game do you recommend most? The board game I recommend most is likely the Betrayal at the House on the Hill. It’s just a really good time if you can find a group of people to play it with. Failing that Cat Magic is good for new board gamers or people who want a more speedy game.

Favorite Pokemon? For my favorite Pokemon, I have to go with the classic Charizard. A super cool fire based dragon sign me up.

Favorite Magic the Gathering Color Combination? My favorite magic color combo is probably Dimir (Blue/Black). Why I would like to counter spell you’re stuff and bring mine back from death thank you very much.

How did I get into gaming? I was 8 when a cousin introduced me to the famous D&D Red box.  I have played dozens of RPGs since then. I got heavily involved with Heroscape when that came out, which got me into painting miniatures as a way to make custom figures. I figured out I really enjoy the painting part of the hobby and have slowly painting minis for many years.

What is my current favorite game? Currently my main game I play is Infinity. I really like the Sci Fi theme and how the game is very engaging and you always have something to do.

Favorite paint brand? As a whole I love Pro Acryl by Monument Hobbies. As a painter I use paints from AK Interactive, Vallejo, and Scale 75 as well. The Jentastic Drunken Brush Goop is the best brush soap I have ever used.

What Board game do you recommend most? Marvel Zombies by CMON. I like the spin on it as you are playing zombie heroes and it is cooperative.

Anything else you’d like the world to know about yourself?
We have a small but growing painting community called LLAMA (League of Louisville Area Miniature Artists). We currently meet on Wednesday nights at Miso’s. If you have questions about painting come on out and paint with us!

This is a great store with a lot to offer! This store has the best selection of collectible action figures (including some very old ones), pop figures, and current board games. They also offer great events for the community such as game nights and tournaments and painting nights. The owners are great and friendly and always offer to help you find what you are looking for. It's quickly become one of my family's favorite stores.

Great new shop in Louisville that fills a huge void for the tabletop gaming community - an owner who is an avid gamer himself and engaging with his customers. Not only a place to buy your models or find cool collectibles, but a hangout spot to chat and hobby with likeminded friends.

When walking in to Miso’s you immediately feel welcome and can tell the owners are happy to talk with you and help. While I was looking in the collectible section, I had a feeling of being in a Toys R Us isle. There is a very large amount of collectibles there as well. I am excited for him the get in all of his gaming, which they told me a lot should be in before the Grand Opening on 4/9/22. Also they are willing to order anything that is not in stock. The gaming room is a great size and has a bunch of tables for open games (plus they also have terrain already with more on the way). I really like the tables in the front section for gaming, painting or just hanging out. Perfect place for all of your gaming and collectible needs.

What a great new addition to the community! The owners are very friendly, and the whole place gives off the vibe that all are welcome, whether you are just getting started with a new hobby or have been collecting/gaming for years. I personally am into board gaming and X-Wing, of which they have a great selection of products - among many other games, collectibles, and supplies. They also have a perfect space for table top gaming, and we enjoyed throwing down a match while we were there. Definitely looking forward to returning. Support our local game and hobby stores!

Me and my brother have gone here multiple times and it’s definitely my favorite place to go. Miso’s has a vast collection of toys and games and even a very very nice collection of comics. They have old and new toys of almost every major brand and they’re all fairly priced. Although they don’t carry new comics, which we already have enough stores that do, they’re still my favorite place, alongside The Zone, to search for comics. The owner is also one of the coolest and nicest guys I’ve ever met. Miso’s is definitely my go to when it comes to nerd stuff.

Miso’s Game Room and Collectibles is brand new and already a favorite store of mine. The owners are super nice and extremely helpful. They plan on expanding their gaming selection, and can order most of what someone needs. Their toy and collectible selection is great as well! There is also plenty of space to play games in the store, and there is even an 80’s style arcade in the shop! Do yourself a favor and check this store out ASAP!

Very large area to play table top games! Large storefront with a lot of items that you really won’t find anywhere else as far as the collectibles go. The owner is knowledgeable and can help with a lot of aspects of gaming. You are allowed to paint terrain and minis there also. The store is named after the owners dog miso who is an awesome dog. I wish the owner Chris was as cool as his dog but you can’t expect everything!

Amazing shop with an astounding owner and staff. Chris makes a point to greet everyone and will stop what he is doing to see if there as anything he can do to help. Tons of collectible and gaming wants and needs here and if they don’t have it ask them if they can order it. The Star Wars section is insane but several other genre to browse if that is not your thing (why isn’t it your thing?) Gaming room is nice and bright. And the mini arcade up front is a fun pastime in between games. Can not recommend this place enough.

I took my wife daughter and wifes best friend to Miso's Game Room. It was a wonderful experience for all of us, they had inventory for all of our different interests. My daughter, who is 6 was welcomed just like any other guest and enjoyed her time with Miso! The owners Chris and Alex were very helpful and friendly. They have lots of gaming space snacks and an inviting atmosphere. If your looking for a game shop to make your home shop I highly recommend this one.
